How it works

Every conversation starts with a Nerve

A Nerve is a topic, viewpoint, question, or statement. Everything else on Nervus — replies, mentions, Back, Counter, Banter — hangs off that one anchor, so conversations stay focused instead of scattering across a feed.

One anchor per conversation

Post your Nerve as text, a voice note, an image, a video, a GIF, or a sticker. People reply, mention each other, and either Back it (support) or Counter it (disagree) — every response stays attached to that Nerve instead of drifting off-topic.

N Should remote teams default to async?

Sync meetings are a tax on focus. Change my mind.

Back it, Counter it, or reply

Back

Show support for a Nerve you agree with. Backing can spend Coins, signalling real conviction rather than a free tap.

Counter

Push back on a take you disagree with. Countering keeps disagreement structured instead of turning into noise.

Replies & mentions

Reply directly under a Nerve or mention someone to pull them into the thread — the conversation stays anchored.

Follow & fan bases

Follow strong opinion-givers, join their fan base, or ping someone inactive to pull them back into a Nerve.

Banter: live voice rooms, attached to a Nerve

Some conversations need a live room, not just replies. Banter lets a Nerve spin up a live voice room where people jump in, debate in real time, and keep the discussion tied to the Nerve that started it.

Improve the wording

Cleans up grammar and phrasing while keeping your tone and meaning fully intact.

Show another angle

Surfaces a reasonable alternative perspective — without declaring a winner or taking sides.

Help you respond

Helps structure a reply that engages with a Nerve respectfully, even when you strongly disagree.
